SummerSession
Wild Mountain Medicine 2021 Spring Session — Plants and Skills
July 8th - 12th Near Crested Butte, CO
$950
Medicine and Making
This course will build on May’s weekend workshop, it will cover some review of plants at their more adult stages of life, while we will also learn about new plants at higher elevations. This class will focus more on our mountain botanicals.
In the summer intensive get more in depth on plant identification, foraging and medicine making. During our weekend we will learn to make herbal tinctures, infused oils, medicinal salves, and distilling hydrosols and essential oil. We go deeper into ancestral skills with learning about natural cordage tying with dogbane, milkweed, and cattail—learning to weave small coil baskets. We will be taking the time to tan small sections hides to sew into medicine pouches.
Mountain Medicine
Hone in on more botany skills during this weekend with an emphasis on harvesting ethics, and how to continue a sustainable relationship with your wild gardens. We will be encouraging plant sits, and understanding the communications of our botanical allies.
