Come learn the ancient art of making fire from scratch - no matches, no lighters, just your hands, tools and a spark of determination!
In this hands-on class, we’ll explore two primal methods for creating fire, bow drill and hand drill. Whether you’re brand new to friction fire or have dabbled before and want to deepen your skills, this class offers an accessible, supportive space to learn, practice, and connect with these timeless skills.
Along with teaching you the techniques for making fire, we’ll cover everything from material selection and how to build your own fire-making kits. You’ll have time to practice and play with a few techniques, and leave with an understanding of how to coax a coal from simple natural materials.
Come ready to get your hands dirty, and experience making fire through the old ways.
